Hello Everyone,
I'm working on my second book, a collection of love poems tentatively entitled Cotton Candy: Love Poems. Getting to this point has not been easy; in fact, it has been a long and arduous journey, but like love, you can't hurry the process. There has been so much for me to learn about love and so many lessons to absorb along the way.
No matter if you have been in a relationship for seven days or seven years, you know that love can bring about a wave of emotions. At any given moment you can feel extremely happy, miserable, in peace with contentment or bored out of your mind from the monotonous routine. But most of us are ready to commit everything we have in hopes of finding happily ever after. We even cope with the excitement and stress that comes with a relationship and are willing to go round for round in hopes of finding true love. We break up to make up to do it all over again. Why? Because there is something absolutely cathartic, breathtaking and exhilarating about love that keeps us coming back for more.
Cotton Candy: Love Poem is a collection of poems with four sections entitled Cotton Candy, Nothing Hurts More, After A While and A Deeper Love. It offers bold and romantic expressions of love that addresses love in all of its stages and manifestations; it gives a voice to everything love is and is not that you may have been afraid to stay out loud. From ecstasy, monotony, stability, uncertainty, misery and clarity, it is candid and poignant.
I wrote this book of poems for everyone who knows that love is maddening, unpredictable and exciting all at the same time. No matter the situation, life is all about love. It is love that leaves us feeling warm and sappy-remembering just how good it felt- or still feels to be achingly in love. Love is vital to the human spirit and healing process. After all, love is the real antidote. Remember, love resides inside of you.
